The Link Between Heart Disease and Faith

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world. It happens at the invisible level when there are already problems. But when we finally find the visible, the disease is too difficult to treat. If we understand this concept, we can start to do something to prevent Heart issues. I truly believe this problem can be and must be prevented, but only when we know the source.

In Chinese medicine, the Heart controls the mind and all emotions, but your Liver allows emotions to manifest at different levels. Your emotions go through your Heart; therefore, your feelings, imagination, and creativity will go through your Heart as well. The Heart is a unique and dynamic physical entity. But the real function, the real power of this entity, is at the invisible, spiritual level.

No program today can successfully prevent heart disease. You cannot use physical exercise, run on the treadmill, eat the right foods, or do cardio exercise to prevent heart disease because it is an emotional disease, not a physical one. But heart disease is not that simple. If it were just an emotional problem, therapists could help everyone cure heart disease. Heart disease is consciousness at the spiritual level where something is disconnected.

What can help us deal with the true problem at the spiritual level? You must follow the spiritual concept of having faith. The Heart directly helps you to connect to the Spirit, which means using spiritual exercise to maintain a healthy Heart.

Cultivating Inner Peace

Energetically, the Heart wants to be peaceful. But our busy daily lives push and pull us in many directions. By the end of the day, we may feel achy or tired, or even have heart palpitations. This usually signals that the body is simply running on fumes. It does not have enough Qi to power through everything it is being asked to tackle.

Energy Gate Two

The Four Energy Gates is a system of self-care that reawakens the body’s healing wisdom. Each of the Four Energy Gates is located on a major meridian in the body. Starting from the top of the body and working down, each gate works with the other to allow maximum Qi to flow through meridians in the upper and lower body. A video of the Four Energy Gates can be found below.

Energy Gate Two is a practice of peace. Anytime you are feeling stressed or are having trouble sleeping, turn to this practice. Lay down peacefully and bring your breathing to a normal pace. Close your eyes. Then follow these steps:

  1. Place your left palm over your chest between your breastbones.
  2. Place your right hand over your left.
  3. Make 200 gentle circles clockwise, then 200 gentle circles counterclockwise.
