Have you ever been presented with an idea, a path, or a door to something new? Often times, it’s hard to decide whether to open the door and ‘Go for it!’ or to simply stay on the straight and narrow. The old way is safe and expected, while the new path has its risks and challenges. Sure, there may be a new opportunity behind that door, but will it be a good one? Is it worth the risk?

Trust your gut. Listen to your instincts. What is it telling you to do?

You will never know if this is your shining moment unless you inch closer and turn the doorknob. What’s the worst that can happen? If it fails, let it go and move on. It was there to teach you a lesson and has had its time. Knowing when to let go is equally as important as molding an idea and helping it to grow and develop.

But what if the opportunity doesn’t fail? What if it is meant to soar? Loosen your grip and let it take flight. Take a leap of faith knowing that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

And months or years down the road, when you look back on this moment—the one in which you made a life-changing decision—be thankful that you didn’t let fear get in the way. Just think—if you hadn’t opened the door and taken your first step, you would have never discovered the greatness behind it.
