Refresh and Renew This Holiday Season
The holiday season is a wonderful time of appreciation for all of life’s gifts—both tangible and intangible. But for many of us, holiday cheer can be stressful and even exhausting. Many of us stay up late addressing cards and shopping for last-minute gifts, emptying both our wallets and our energy reserves. Overdoing it can take its toll, especially during Winter.
So how do you create balance during this fun-filled season? Take a cue from Nature and slow down! Just look around you—the trees have shed their leaves, some animals are hibernating and others are conserving their energy by eating the foods they spent the last few months storing up. If you’re already feeling low on energy and high on stress, take a step back and remember—every single thing you do uses Qi. How are you spending your Qi? Can you find ways to conserve your Qi instead?
Consider eating light meals and resting as much as possible. Take time before, during, and after your holiday gatherings to turn inward. Gather the family for a few quiet breaths, or teach everyone to hold the Qigong posture The Dragon Stands Between Heaven and Earth. With a full moon brewing, this is the perfect time for some inner quiet. Care for yourself—mind, body and spirit—this Winter, to set the stage for a new year full of health and balance.
