 Six pears, chopped
 1/3 cup rock candy
 1/2 cup water

Place all ingredients in a covered pot and simmer on low for 10 to 15 minutes.

Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon or some grated ginger for a flavorful treat.

If you prefer to make pear sauce, cook the mixture for 30 minutes or until the pears are very soft. Then with a hand beater or immersion blender, puree the contents of the pot. Continue with step 2.
