SWEET BARLEY CEREAL
Chinese barley and brown sugar both support a healthy digestive system. Cook with almonds for additional Lung support.

In a saucepan, combine the barley, brown sugar and water. Boil gently, partly covered, for 45 minutes. Note that cooking the barley with the sugar softens its taste.
While the barley is cooking, cover the almonds with water in a separate saucepan and boil gently for 5 minutes.
Drain the almonds and pull off the skins when cool enough.
Set aside the skinned almonds and add to the barley for the last 10 minutes of cooking time.
Remove from heat.
Place the mixture in a blender and add the vanilla extract. Add more water if needed.
Pulse the mixture a few times so the consistency is still chewy.
Place in a bowl and serve with berries.
