SAVORY ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP
Sweet and savory--butternut squash provides support for Stomach and Spleen function. Known as comfort food for the winter, butternut squash roasted adds an additional warming boost to the digestive system.
Sweet and savory, this butternut squash soup provides all of the perfect elements to nurture Stomach energy.

Preheat oven to 400° degrees.
Place squash on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with oil. Sprinkle with sage, mushroom powder, and salt. Roast 30-35 minutes or until fork tender, stirring occasionally until golden brown.
Meanwhile in a large saucepan, heat oil and 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat.
Add onions and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add 4-5 cups water to saucepan. When the water boils, add the butternut squash and remaining butter.
Puree with an immersion blender or enjoy a chunky soup!
Add a dash of cayenne pepper for an added warming effect.
