5 ELEMENT MILLET

Another 5 Element meal! Millet and honey strengthen digestion and Qi while the pear moistens and supports Lung Qi.  Goji berries support the Heart while black sesame nourishes the Kidneys.  Adding the greens will give support to the Liver.

Yields1 Serving
 ½ cup of rinsed millet or grain of choice
 2 cups of boiling water
 Small bunch of spinach
 1 pear, diced
 Handful of goji berries
 Handful of sesame seeds
 Handful of chopped walnuts

Add the millet (or chosen grain) to the boiling water.  Simmer until soft and porridge-like (about 20 minutes).

Lightly steam or saute´ the spinach.

Place the millet in a bowl and top with spinach, diced pears, walnuts, goji berries, and sesame seeds.

Top with honey for sweetness or strips of seaweed to nurture the Kidney.
