The Body Never Lies: The Ears Tell All
Why is it that right before a fever spikes, the ears turn bright red and get hot to the touch? Or when it’s very cold outside, many people experience tinnitus, or ringing in the ears?
Interestingly enough, those symptoms are not a coincidence. Remember—the body never lies!
Have you ever taken a good look at your ears? Their shape mimics the Kidney itself—oval, with one side more curved than the other.
During the cold winter season, the Kidney is the organ system in charge. The Kidney is responsible for storing all of the Qi that you received at birth, and distributing it to depleted organ systems. Every organ system has a sense organ that connects to the outer world. The Kidney’s sense organ is the ears. So any issues relating to the cold weather (like achy bones), or any symptoms related to the ears (like tinnitus), connect directly back to the energetic functioning of the Kidney.
When we think of ear-related issues, we often think of young children who are plagued by multiple ear infections. These kids often end up with ear tubes to drain infections or have surgery to have their tonsils removed. But ear infections, red, hot ears, deafness, and tinnitus are your body’s way of asking for support—Kidney support!
Ready to boost the energetic functioning of your Kidney? Make these simple tips part of your everyday routine:
1. Stomp your feet, slowly and with flat feet, for about 5 minutes a day.
2. Rub your ears until they are warm to the touch.
3. Sleep before midnight, rest when you’re tired, and give yourself permission to de-stress.
